- Title
Antidepressants and suicide.
- Abstract
The article discusses the link between antidepressant drug use and suicide. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released the results of placebo-controlled trials involving antidepressant drugs and nearly 4,500 children and adolescents in August 2004. Most individual trials revealed no difference between drugs and placebos, but when all the studies were taken together, 4 percent of patients taking antidepressants were found to have definitely or possibly thought about killing themselves.
