- Abstract
Excerpts from August 1851 British Parliamentary reports and papers are presented. The first is from a House of Commons committee report regarding the 1849 Act for regulating the Carriage of Passengers in Merchant Vessels detailing fraudulent practices at the port of Liverpool, England practiced predominantly upon Irish Emigrants bound for the U.S. The second is taken from H.C. 642, the Report of the Commissioners appointed to consider the question of a site for the National Gallery, a proposal which was never enacted.
