- Abstract
Working bodies of a parliament or parliamentary committees are mechanism and highly relevant factors in the adoption of laws which regulate social relations in all areas of state organization. The practice of organization and operation differs from the different parliamentary compositions and also in different states can be encountered various practices of their functioning. They represent the professional bodies of a parliament, which are organized and operate in some specific areas within the overall activity of the parliament. In general, the working bodies may be permanent and temporary. Temporary bodies are polling committees which are formed for the realization of certain issues, for accountability of public officials. The number of committee members is appointed by the decision of establishment, and this issue is regulated by the regulation of the respective assembly. This paper aims to provide a clearer overview related to parliamentary bodies (commonly known as committees), starting with the establishment, structure, scope and functioning, i.e. the powers they have, and what provides the legislation of the Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania and Montenegro. Such review enables us to highlight the similarities and differences that characterize these bodies in these four countries taken as study models
