- Abstract
Through a sociological-cultural approach, this paper treats the social phenomenon of the Albanian identity and the micro and macro forms of identity in the context of delayed establishment of the Albanian nation. Overstressing of the exclusions, combined with inability to converge the values of micro-identities, has resulted in the Albanians going through a process of the identity crisis in the states they live (Albanian, Kosovo, Macedonia, and other areas). There are still influences of the traditional values in the process of identity readjustment, which is proven with a delay and protracted changes in the stabilization of the basic values of the Albanian nation. The promotion of pluralism and heterogeneousness completes the modern identity, particularly nowadays when the Albanian nation is becoming part of a large community of the European nations.
