Making the Impossible, Possible: Working With Anxious Patients.
- Authors
Gust, Alyssa
- Abstract
In this article, the author suggests ways in managing patients' fears and anxieties during radiotherapy sessions. She says that during radiotherapy, patients are afraid of being alone with a machine generating radiation to them. She suggests to assess patients' preferences, provide positive feedback and converse with them to condition their minds. She concludes that radiation therapists should be creative and discuss techniques in dealing anxious patients throughout the treatment session.
