- Abstract
The article discusses the court case Riddell, Inc. vs. Schutt Sports, Inc. related to the proper implementation of the U.S. Lanham Act. The court case was filed in 2008 wherein Riddell claimed that Schutt has infringed the jaw flap of its helmet, has undertaken false advertising, trade libel and product dispargement. The U.S. Court that tried the mentioned case ruled over based on legal reasoning without considering the public policies related to the sports football.
