- Title
Abuse filmed by BBC puts spotlight on hospital care.
- Abstract
The article shares the views and experience of nurses Terry Bryan and Ashleigh Fox who blew the whistle on the unacceptable treatment of patients at Winterbourne View Hospital near Bristol. Bryan contacted the British Broadcasting Corporation about his concerns when the Care Quality Commission (CQC) failed to respond. Both nurses blame the hospital's problems on poor recruitment, weak management and inadequate training. Fox encouraged fellow carers to speak out against unacceptable practice. INSET: Police arrest 11 staff.
