The article offers the author's insights on the dissertation summary of researcher Kristin Kline Liu regarding minority English language students' oral language production in a mathematics classroom in the U.S. Topics discussed by the author include the importance of content language, the benefits of trainig teachers regarding SIOP, an instruction teaching model, and the acceptance of the limited language used by second language learners in expressing math concepts.
