- Title
Corporate Supports for the Family Lives of Employees: A Conceptual Model for Program Planning and Evaluation.
- Authors
Bowen, Gary L.
- Abstract
Grounded in both theoretical and empirical literature, this article specifies a conceptual model which focuses on the affect of family-oriented benefits, policies, and services in the corporate sector on the work and family lives of employees. The model is discussed in the context of recent expansions in corporate supports for employees and their families, the history and development of corporate supports, and the need for an overarching model of work and family linkages to guide corporate efforts on behalf of employees and their families. Implications of the model for program planning and development are discussed and suggestions are offered for testing and refining the model.
