The article discusses the Ready to Read research published by the British Read On. Get On coalition campaign. Topics include the research findings on how the poorest 5-year-olds are the hardest hit in terms of language development, the implication of the gender gap in language development by the age of 5, and the coalitions' call for the British government to invest in quality nursery schools and in boosting skills of nursery staff in language development.
