- Abstract
The article presents a study which discusses the unusual Saharan dust events in the Carpathian Basin in Central Europe in 2013 and early 2014. The study is investigated by BSC-DREAM8b v1.0 dust model and mineral dust database, Hitachi S-4300 CFE Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and Malvern Mastersizer 3000 laser diffraction particle size analyser. Results show that the Saharan dust events were associated with the unusual stationary behaviour of major pressure systems and blocking mechanisms.
