- Abstract
The article investigates the link between class and race and discusses parental participation of African American students in middle class school situations. It highlights the behavior in which parents articulate their vision on how they engage themselves with schools on behalf of their children. It provides suggestions to boost parental involvement and strategies for education professionals to deal with when working with urban African American parents. It cites a view of the topic which is potentially attractive to several constituents in parental involvement for urban African American students.
