- Abstract
The training of future Social Sciences teachers in Spain, in the secondary stage, follows a consecutive model, that is, first the Bachelor’s degree is achieved in a specialty related to Social Sciences and then a one-year Master’s degree is completed with mainly pedagogical training. This Master’s Degree, Secondary Education Teacher Training, is regularly evaluated by official external agencies. The objective of this paper is to know the perception of the students who are studying the Master’s degree in the specialty of Social Sciences about the teaching coordination in two different universities during the 2020-2021 academic year. The method followed in the research is analytical-descriptive-comparative, combining a quantitative and qualitative approach. The analysis is carried out based on the information collected through a questionnaire and is compared with other documentary sources such as those from official evaluation agencies. The results confirm the need to review the coordination in aspects such as the contents of the subjects, the relationship between the subjects, and the usefulness of the activities. It is concluded that it is necessary to move towards a much more cooperative university teaching model and in which coordination is a fundamental pillar to improve teaching.
