- Abstract
The article focuses on the engineered elastic hydrogel-based sealant which has biodegradation and mechanical properties through modified recombinant protein called methacryloyl-substituted tropoelastin (MeTro). Topics discussed include the capacity of the sealant to control air and liquid leakages on tissue defect through photopolymerization, the synthesis and physical characterization of MeTro, and the adhesion testing of MeTro hydrogels.
