- Abstract
The article presents a study on the impact of free trade under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, with particular focus in Mexico and the U.S. It explores the dynamic interactions among trade, GHG emissions and other related economic factors, given the debates over the environmental impact of free trade and climate change mitigation. It suggests that trade openness between Mexico and the U.S. Contribute to GHG emission increases after 1994.
