- Title
CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING: CONSIDERING MULTIPLE STAKEHOLDERS.
- Authors
Lee, Louise
- Abstract
A growing number of businesses are implementing corporate-volunteering programs to deliver their corporate social responsibility obligations. While the business case is well developed, little research has examined the interests of non-profit organisations, or the challenges non-profits face in working with business and corporate volunteers. The research presented here starts to address the absence of non-profit perspectives on corporate volunteering by directly asking non-profit managers about their perceptions of the benefits and challenges of corporate-volunteering initiatives. The findings indicate that while corporate-volunteer initiatives deliver meaningful benefits to nonprofits, the complexities of engaging with corporate volunteers and business organisations present significant management challenges for non-profits.
