- Abstract
An essay is presented on the portrayal of architecture in 18th-century French literature. It explores the popularity of libertine, erotic literature, including the books "Thémidore" by Godard d'Aucour and "Point de lendemain" by Vivant Denon. The use of the word "cabinet" in the era is unpacked, such as its association with the bedroom. The voyeuristic and erotics aspects of the literature are also explored.
