- Authors
Pickford, Henry W.
- Abstract
This article examines the concept of resistance through an analysis of Theodor W. Adorno's work as a public intellectual. It categorizes resistance into different types based on its object and discusses the subject and impetus of resistance. The article explores the perspectives of Hannah Arendt and Adorno on resistance, as well as Caygill's argument that resistance should be seen as a capacity rather than specific acts. It also delves into Adorno's critique of late capitalist society and his theory and practice of resistance. Adorno emphasizes the importance of critical analysis, reflection, and cultivating a critical attitude in everyday life as forms of resistance.
