- Abstract
This article discusses the field of digital Korean studies and its intersection with digital technology. It highlights the use of online repositories and virtual meeting platforms that have allowed academic research on Korea to continue during the Covid-19 pandemic. The article traces the origins of digital Korean studies back to the 1960s and emphasizes the privileged access that Koreanists have to digital resources. It showcases various examples of leveraging digital methods in Korean studies, including data modeling, visualization, and analysis. The article also addresses the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital transformation of Korean studies and emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and inclusivity in the field.
