- Abstract
The article reports that on April 16, 2009 the Washington State Senate passed education reform legislation that allowed for teacher-librarians to be written into the language of basic education. Included in this bill was the language Washington Library Media Association (WLMA). Included in the legislation was a prototype school model in statute so library programs would become part of the basic education allocation for schools. Additional topics include how collaboration, integration and partnership factor into the job of advocacy. INSET: Advocacy is Essential.
