- Abstract
One of the problems faced by managers and researchers is how to control the intensity during resistance training. Objective: To compare and analyze intra-sets one and three minutes rest interval with intensity of 80% of 1RM on the evaluation of rating of perceived exertion over the sets. Materials and Methods: 20 men did six visits non-consecutive: 1st and 2nd) familiarization, 3rd and 4th) test of 1RM, 5th and 6th) three sets of 80% of 1RM in the exercises: bench press (SH), machine lat-pulldown (PA), seated machine shoulder press (DS), machine triceps extension (RT), machine biceps curl flexion (RB) with one or three minute rest interval were recorded where numbers of repetitions in each sets and PSE. Results: There was no significant difference between the intervals, but over the sets difference (p <0.05) for all exercises in both intervals, except that the DS had no difference between 2nd and 3rd set. Conclusion: That over the set is increased PSE in both rest intervals.
