- Authors
Brenner, Michael
- Abstract
The article presents a discussion on the relationship between the Zionist movement and the establishment of the State of Israel, adapted from the book "In Search of Israel: The History of an Idea" by Michael Brenner. It recognizes the roles of David Ben-Gurion, the first prime minister of Israel, and Chaim Weizmann, the first president of Israel, in the Zionist movement. The growth of the sense of Israel's uniqueness among the political right and national religious movements is discussed.
