Farber, Saul J.; Farber, S J
- Abstract
The article presents the author's comments on nephrologist Homer W. Smith as a humanist. The author says that Smith's dignity and his capacity of self realization through reason, enable him to meet all the definitions of a humanist. He was an avid reader from childhood and also a supporter of the science and philosophy of evolution. Smith believed that the evolution was the basis for the development of the functions of the kidney.
