IN SEARCH OF (SPACETIME) STRUCTURALISM.
- Authors
Greaves, Hilary
- Abstract
The article focuses on the thesis of structuralism as the dissolver of metaphysical pseudo-debates. It identifies six different theses of structuralism using spacetime as case study. It discusses the importance of general relativity for the debate over substantivalism and relationalism. The author suggests that the theses are new and are not plausible, except to the supposition of structuralism as a rejection of the fundamentality of property/object/relation framework that remains unclear.
