- Title
A Question of Balance.
- Authors
Schmidt, Charles W.
- Abstract
The article examines the suggestion of the expert committees convened by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) for the U.S. government and the public to challenge technical issues. This investigation does not find evidence showing that the NAS recommendation were adulterated by industry affiliations. The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) stresses that the study raises question on how industry ties make committees less bold with respect to their conclusions. NAS has responded over the CSPI definition of conflict of interest.
