- Title
The Polish American Encyclopedia.
- Abstract
The article discusses the publishing of an encyclopedia on the history of Polish Americans sponsored by the Polish American Historical Association (PAHA). The encyclopedia includes entries on Polish-American cultural life, biographies, and information on Polish-American organizations. Difficulties were encountered in establishing the Polish ethnicity of various Americans who emigrated from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The PAHA managed to involve McFarland Publishers, a commercial publishing firm, in the publishing of the text. Funding for the encyclopedia was provided by the Kosciuszko Foundation.
