The author reflects on the major conditions of reproductive failure in horses and identifies the best way to treat the problem. She believes that reproductive efficiency has substantial implications for the economic success of equine stud farms, particularly for the thoroughbred breeding farms. It highlights a paper investigating the impact of the interaction of multiple risk factors on reproductive efficiency, published within the issue.
