- Title
Call for tighter regulation of open farms.
- Abstract
The article reports on the recommendation for tighter regulation of open farms in Great Britain. The recommendation was issued by the committee that investigated the outbreak of Escherichia coli O157 among visitors to an animal petting barn at Godstone Farm in Surrey, England. The committee asked the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to study the feasibility of using vaccines to control E. coli O157 and to identify the obstacles to implementation.
