The article focuses on the history of maritime Roman glass trade through an archaeological case study of Arles Harbor, France. The author provides a brief history of Arles and its location along the Rhone River, discusses the assemblage of glassware discovered through underwater archaeological excavations, and explores how the different types of glass provide information on short-distance trade within the Mediterranean region.
