- Abstract
Therefore, current European Guidelines suggest surgical replacement with bioprostheses in older patients (>60), while a mechanical prosthetic valve is recommended in younger patients or in those where future re-do surgery or transcatheter aortic valve implantation for failed surgical bioprosthesis (TAVI-ViV) would be at high risk [[1]].
