- Abstract
Minimal expression in contemporary architecture is an approach to true values, search for the essence, cognition, spiritualization of creative powers. The following original aesthetic values of minimal expression become distinct: simplicity (not poorness), clarity, purity, cleanness, sterility, cleanness, transparency, lightness, tranquillity, deepness, reduction, modesty, asceticism. One may distinguish valuable priority factors, determining the causality and continuity of the origin of minimal expression, such as emptiness, silence, idea, light, space. Generalizing the studies of minimal expression in historic and contemporary architecture, the specific objectives of minimal expression in contemporary architecture come to light: with the help of "less" it is sought for "more", through natural simplicity it is sought for spiritual perfection, harmony, poetry in pragmatism as well as the priorities –asceticism and an elitist character.
