- Title
The Tribal Trust and Govemment-to-Govemment Consultation in a New Ecological Age.
- Authors
ROGERSON, AMANDA
- Abstract
The author argues that the U.S. government has abandoned its trust responsibility to protect tribal cultural autonomy (federal Indian trust doctrine), and it mentions how climate change poses challenges for indigenous communities' cultural practices and tribal rights. Government-to-government consultation is examined in relation to the distribution of power and responsibilities between America's Federal Government and Indian tribes. Several U.S. tribal autonomy legal cases are also assessed.
