- Abstract
The article discusses various assumptions regarding drug addiction and treatment as of June 2013, focusing on the American government's War on Drugs, drug use prevention efforts, and the reportedly addictive aspects of illegal drugs. A former prohibition on alcohol in the U.S. is addressed, along with drug abusers, black markets, and gateway drugs. Marijuana legalization efforts and drug education programs are examined, as well as drug dealers and zero tolerance drug policies.
