- Abstract
The article focuses on a national survey on people with learning difficulties in Great Britain. It was carried out in 2003-04 by the company BMRB Social Research, with direction from the Institute for Health Research at Lancaster University and Central England People FirstResearchTeam. It was found that people with intellectual disabilities (IDs) are often socially excluded. Poor people with IDs were found to be more likely to have unsuitable accommodations, be unemployed, and have poor health.
