- Abstract
The article provides information on an adult neotropic cormorant Phalacrocorax brasilianus discovered by birder Harry P. Robinson along the dike separating Lake Apopka from Lake Apopka North Shore Restoration Area, Orange County, Florida on June 3, 2009. The bird is described as slimmer, smaller and with longer inner rectrices than other cormorants. The article mentions that the bird failed to demonstrate vocalizations and interactions with the double-crested cormorants or Anhingas. The population of neotropic cormorants is said to be increasing in the U.S. and Cuba. It was presumed that the species in the Florida Keys were from Cuba.
