- Abstract
The article discusses the activities conducted by teachers in Bowling Green, Kentucky on how to educate their middle school students about the engineering profession. The challenged their students by carrying an electric circuit experiment and employing robotics to design, develop, and race a vehicle from plastic building blocks. Professional engineers were also invited to mentor the students throughout the planning and building phase. The teachers revealed that the classroom experiments had helped their students to develop abilities for scientific inquiry and to enhance their understanding about science and technology.
