- Abstract
The article analyzes the effects of the changing market structure in the fertilizer industry in Great Britain in 1953-1977. The outline of the changing structure of the industry and of the changes in demand, along with the consideration of market performance of firms over the period is also discussed. According to the author, there is evidenced of an increasingly competitive situation in the straight nitrogen and compounds fertilizer sector. It concludes that entry, and the threat of further entry stimulates both products and price competition in the fertilizer market.
