The article focuses on whether compelled testimony elicited by a foreign government violates the Fifth Amendment to U.S. Constitution. Topics discussed include issues surrounding international cooperation in criminal investigation; court cases United States v. Allen and United States v. Balsys on the same; and applicability of the Fifth Amendment to foreign testimony such as due process under the self-incrimination clause.
