- Abstract
The article discusses the relationship between markets, corruption and privatization in the U.S. from the 1980s through the early 2010s, with a particular focus on the role that privatization allegedly plays in increasing corruption. An overview of the U.S.'s privatization of military duties, including in regard to private military companies, is provided. An overview of the relationship between private prisons and prisons managed by the state is also provided. The corruption within public institutions, including in regard to the purposes of institutions, is discussed.
