- Abstract
The article discusses the options on electric sector to reduce carbon dioxide emission and the cost of the climate control legislation in the U.S. The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and McKinsey & Co. studies indicate that the technology to address global warming is available which includes advanced nuclear reactors, carbon capture and sequestration, and plug-in electric vehicles. McKinsey states that the cost for these technologies can cost 1.1 trillion dollars through 2030.
