- Abstract
The article focuses on strategies for pain management in older people. It mentions several common causes of pain in older people including arthritis, fractures, and cancer pain. It also mentions analgesics that must be avoided by older people in chronic pain management, such as dextropropoxyphene and tramadol. Furthermore, a table is presented which offers counselling tips for several common opioid analgesics for older adult's use including buprenorphine, codeine, and fentanyl.
