The article offers an overview of the paper, titled "The Economic Implications of Housing Supply" by Edward Glaeser and Joseph Gyourko, which examined the relation of the cost of production, availability and selling price of homes to the U.S. economy. It looks at how the authors compared price and minimum profitable production cost and illustrated the benefit of limited housing supplies for homeowners who purchased homes before the tightening of building regulations and increase in land values.
