- Abstract
The birth of written communication began in Mesopotamia, between the rivers Tigre and Euphrates, in the hands of the Phoenicians and Sumerians who developed cuneiform writing from the mud of the river and a rudimentary tool in the form of a wedge. Since then we have found a constant search for the development of tools that exploit the plasticity of writing. Given the growing presence of technological devices that enable communication through words, we currently have several applications for mobile devices that emulate old processes of text composition, such as letterpress or calligraphy, generating hybrid projects. This research examines some applications available in the market and analyzes the approximations, convergences and divergences with the original techniques.
