- Abstract
The article presents U.S. legal developments in marketing relative to the regulation of unfair competition. In 1984 members of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) submitted an analysis of the law of deception as it pertains to advertising. A 1984 consent agreement settled charges against Adria Laboratories, Inc. pertaining to its television and radio advertisements for its pain relief product "Efficin."
