A biographical sketch is provided for Scottish noble Anne, Duchess of Hamilton. She was born in 1632 and inherited her title during the British Civil War after her father and uncle were killed as royalist supporters. She married William Douglas, Earl of Selkirk, in 1656. She had thirteen children, outlived her husband, and died at age 84 in 1716. Her improvements and management of Hamilton Palace in South Lanarkshire, Scotland is discussed.
