- Abstract
The article examines the role of ocean literacy in coastal communities in Mi'kma'ki/Atlantic Canada. Topics discussed include the increasing interest in community learning and knowledge co-production as effective forms of environmental and sustainable development education, role of Oceans Week Halifax as the legacy of World Oceans day (WOD), and the integration of the Mi'kmaw, local and Western knowledge systems in the Apoqnmatulti'k research project.
