- Abstract
The article presents information on a study regarding transmission of Staphylococcus aureus between humans and domestic animals in a household. To study the relatedness of strains of Staphylococcus aureus, the authors used a new technique which is based on the selective polymerase chain reaction amplification of restriction fragments from a total digest of genomic DNA. The authors isolated eight nonresistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus from a patient with recurrent Staphylococcus aureus infections, from her relatives and from domestic animals with which she had contact.
