The article features the painting Interior. With Piano and Woman in Black (Strandgade 30) by Danish artist Vilhelm Hammershøi. The painting is representative of the artist's rendition of somber and haunting interior scene which reflects loneliness and isolation of the individual. The author notes that despite the inclusion of the artist's wife, Ida Ilsed, in this painting, studied emptiness was still evident.
