- Abstract
This article presents a case study of a 56-year-old female who developed skin fragility and tense bullae due to lysozyme amyloidosis (ALys). The patient had a history of orthotopic liver transplant and splenectomy, and genetic testing confirmed a mutation in the lysozyme gene. The article describes the clinical manifestations and diagnostic findings of the bullous amyloidosis, as well as the proposed pathogenesis of bullae in amyloidosis. This case is the first reported bullous presentation of ALys amyloidosis.
