- Abstract
Rosai-Dorfman disease masquerading as an isolated cutaneous nodule Rosai-Dorfman disease, also known as sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy, is a benign non-Langerhans cell proliferation of unknown aetiology which may affect multiple organs.[1] Extranodal involvement is seen in approximately 30% of affected individuals with cutaneous involvement being most common.[[1]] Other causes of histiocyte emperipolesis were considered: this case had CD1a negativity which excludes Langerhans cell histiocytosis, and there were no Reed-Sternberg cells that would be expected in Hodgkin disease.[3].
